There are several criteria to admit to a residential level of care but first and foremost the question that needs to be answered; am I or the person in question, suffering consequences. Are we having trouble at work, in school, in our home life, with the law? People who use or drink in a normal manner don't suffer consequences from their use. They are not late to work, they are not mysteriously ill all the time, they don't argue with their loved ones, at least not because of their substance use.

We have an experienced, educated and most importantly, a kind group of men and women in the Cirque Lodge admission's department. They can answer any questions you may have about our drug and alcohol rehab programs at the Lodge and Studio. No question is too big or too insignificant when it comes to alcohol or drug treatment.

Admission Guidelines

Age:Adults 18+
Gender:Male and Female
Treatment:Drug Addictions, Alcohol Addictions and other Substance Abuse issues including dual diagnosis
Medical:A thorough History and Physical examination will be completed upon arrival by our medical staff. If you have had a physical examination within the last 30 days, please provide a copy for our Admission department.
Emotional:Any prior psychological treatment information should be provided if there is any concern that it might interfere with an individual's ability to be treated for chemical dependency. As much as possible, mental and emotional disorders should be stable prior to admission.
Physical:An individual will be expected to actively participate in all drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs and should be able to function without major limitations.
Spiritual:We believe that recovery involves spiritual healing and ask that all individuals seeking addiction treatment at Cirque Lodge, in Sundance, Utah be open to exploring this aspect of their lives.
Knowledge about and availability of prior treatment records and information will be beneficial to the staff prior to treating each individual. Appropriate requests for Release of Information can be provided.

Exclusionary Criteria

  • Physical limitations which limit the individual's ability to participate fully in our drug treatment program.
  • Severe psychiatric disorders in need of acute hospitalization.
  • Severe sexual disorders
  • Chronic aggressive behavior incompatible with a group living environment.
  • Individuals must have an understanding of the English language to fully benefit from the program.


The Cirque Lodge continuum of care is designed for a minimum 30-day length of stay. We have different levels of care and to a degree they are determined by individual clinical needs. Additional primary, extended, and outpatient treatment is available as needed.

The rates for alcohol or drug rehab treatment are all-inclusive and include items the resident will need during his/her treatment stay, including clothing and equipment necessary to participate in the program. For a complete list of items to bring, please go to our things to bring page. Additional costs and expenses that are outside bailiwick of residential substance abuse treatment are the responsibility of the resident. These include detoxification, laboratory work and ancillary charges. A deposit for 30 days is due upon admission. Payment is billed weekly for additional charges. Cirque Lodge is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and is licensed by the State of Utah under the Department of Health and Human Services. The Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations has long been considered the gold standard of Accreditation.
