While we believe that Cirque Lodge is absolutely the finest addiction treatment experience to be found anywhere in the country, we know the rubber meets road once a person discharges. And while in this day and age many people go to Outpatient Programs and Structured Living Environments post discharge from our care, we believe what separates from our competitors is our attention to the post discharge plan.
We know the importance of any alcohol and drug rehab center is to send residents home with coping strategies necessary to stay addiction free, we also go to extent of setting our clients up with a temporary guide or “mentor.” This is a very important time in our recovery, not only for us but for our families and friends as well. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible. If there are alumni in the resident’s hometown that are willing to be a mentor, we connect the resident with our alumni prior to their return home.
If you would like to know more about our mentoring program or you are an alumnus and you would like to be a mentor to a returning resident, please contact Chris Rueckert. A “mentor” is not a “sponsor” but simply an alumnus contact that has at least six months of sobriety.
The mentor is another contact source if and when the discharging resident has any questions regarding local meetings, sponsors or information. Mentors tend to smooth that transition from addiction treatment back home.
This could just be a phone call or it could be going to a meeting together. Having an alumni contact upon returning home has been a very valuable resource, and we are very grateful to them and their service that so many have volunteered to provide.
