Admissions Overview
Surrounded by the spectacular Rocky Mountains, Cirque Lodge combines behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, and support programs to help you rediscover what you love in life and guide you to lifelong recovery.
If you or your loved one is suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction, please contact us as soon as possible. Our compassionate admissions team is here to help guide you through the rehab admission process and answer any questions you might have.
Take these simple steps to begin the journey to recovery and freedom from addiction.
What to Bring to Rehab
At Cirque Lodge, we make your journey to our addiction center as easy and relaxing as possible. Our staff will help you navigate through the admission process. Once you decide on an admission date and fly into our local airport, our staff will handle your transportation to our facility.
Once you arrive at our facility, we will make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. When you are ready, our medically trained professionals will guide you through the start of your addiction treatment program.
For information on what to bring with you to the center, please give us a call or read through the list below.
- A credit card, cashier’s check, personal check, or wire transfers are an acceptable forms of payment. Please contact Admissions and make any necessary arrangements prior to your arrival. Payment is due in full upon admission.
- Credit card information to be on file for any incidental charges such as recovery books, logo wear, and salon services. Medication will be billed by a third-party pharmacy and they will need a card on file in order to fill any prescriptions. You will also be responsible for any co-pays or visits to the doctor. If necessary you may cash a personal check made out to Cirque Lodge for $100 one time during your stay. A pre-paid Visa or MasterCard will also work in lieu of personal credit card.
- Your driver’s license, passport, or photo ID.
- A list of all your medications and dosages. Please bring a four-day supply to ensure you do not miss any medications during your transition. While in treatment, authorized medications will be distributed from a third-party pharmacy at an additional cost. If you have an advanced directive, please bring it with you.
- The names, addresses, and phone numbers of health care professionals, referents, family members and anyone else you would like to have involved in your treatment.
- Casual comfortable clothing that can be layered.
- Sleepwear.
- Shoes for everyday use and for exercise; a comfortable pair of hiking boots. Boots are available for purchase.
- Workout attire, including gym attire.
- Shoes, shirts, and appropriate undergarments are required at all times. No tank tops, sleeveless tops. Dress codes are to be followed while in treatment.
- Personal toiletries, including shampoo and conditioner, hairspray, mouthwash, body lotion and sunscreen. All toiletries must be alcohol-free.
- Electronics: An alarm clock (without radio) and hairdryer. Headset radios, CD players (without speakers) and the following MP3 player models (no speakers) – AGPTEK A02 – AGPTEK A09X – AGPTEK A19X – AGPTEK A51PL – AGPTEK G02 – iPod Classics – iPod Shuffles
- Inappropriate Clothing: Drug or alcohol “logo” clothing, excessively tight-fitting clothes, low cut, sleeveless or revealing shirts, torn jeans or tee shirts; short-shorts (only shorts with a hem one inch above the knee may be worn)
- Items exceeding $500 in value. Cirque Lodge is not liable for the loss or damage of any money, jewelry, documents, or any other articles of unusual value. Cirque Lodge’s liability for the loss of any personal property deposited with the Cirque Lodge for safekeeping is limited to $500.
Electrical appliances:
- Cellphone devices are not allowed at Studio location and will be stored.
- Computer/Laptop/Tablet with internet access are not allowed at Studio location and will be stored.
- iPods, Smart watches, I-Touches, any device that connects to Wi-Fi
Cosmetics that contain alcohol:
- Hair sprays
- Perfume
- Nail polish remover, nail glue
- Hair color chemicals
- Aerosol containers
- Aftershave, cologne
- Alcohol-free cosmetics can be brought from home or purchased in our bookstore
Other:
- Clove cigarettes or lighter butane cannot be stored on the premises.
- Energy drinks or vitamin drinks.
- Weapons of any kind.
- Cirque Lodge is an abstinence based program. As such, all controlled substances, even if prescribed or legal, will be destroyed upon admission into the facility.

At Cirque Lodge, we make the transition into treatment as smooth and comfortable as possible. Our admissions team will guide you through each step of the process, from confirming your admission date to arranging transportation from the local airport to our facility.
When you arrive, we will make sure you are settled in and have what you need before our medically trained professionals begin guiding you through the start of your treatment program. Our guidelines are designed to support a safe, comfortable, and productive stay.
To help prepare for admission, please review our “Things to Bring” in the section above. While we provide mountain-specific gear, you may want to bring personal items that will make your stay more comfortable.
For your safety, please bring only 3–4 days of any prescribed medications you are currently taking. After that, all prescribed medications will be provided in special packaging.
We encourage residents to become fully immersed in treatment as early as possible. To support that focus, telephone use is restricted during the first 72 hours of a resident’s stay. Family members are welcome to call and speak with staff during the first 3 days at 800-582-0709.
To maintain a recovery-focused environment, please leave cell phones, computers, and inappropriate reading material at home. We encourage literature that supports recovery, and we will provide helpful materials upon arrival.
Family and friends are welcome to send letters of love and encouragement at any time. We also invite approved loved ones to participate in the Cirque Lodge Family Program, and we recommend scheduling those dates before arrival based on the attached calendar.

One of our professionals will take you through a confidential assessment to understand what kind of treatment program you need. Our conversation will be simple, relaxed, and entirely confidential.
We can answer any questions you may have about our drug and alcohol rehab, medically supervised detox and our dual diagnosis program. We can discuss which of our world-class treatment facilities will work best for you.
If needed, we will direct you to other resources to help and support you in your recovery.

Exclusionary Criteria
- Physical limitations which limit the individual’s ability to participate fully in our drug treatment program.
- Severe psychiatric disorders in need of acute hospitalization.
- Severe sexual disorders
- Chronic aggressive behavior incompatible with a group living environment.
- Individuals must have an understanding of the English language to fully benefit from the program.

| MEDICAL: | A thorough History and Physical examination will be completed upon arrival by our medical staff. If you have had a physical examination within the last 30 days, please provide a copy for our Admission department. |
| EMOTIONAL: | Any prior psychological treatment information should be provided if there is any concern that it might interfere with an individual’s ability to be treated for chemical dependency. As much as possible, mental and emotional disorders should be stable prior to admission. |
| PHYSICAL: | An individual will be expected to actively participate in all drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs and should be able to function without major limitations. |
| PRIOR TREATMENT: | Knowledge about and availability of prior treatment records and information will be beneficial to the staff prior to treating each individual. Appropriate requests for Release of Information can be provided. |

Paying with insurance
Insurance can make treatment and healthcare more affordable and accessible, and Cirque Lodge works with most insurance providers.
Under U.S. law, all Health Insurance Marketplace plans must cover drug and alcohol treatment. Many insurance plans outside the Marketplace also include coverage for treatment. Coverage may not extend to every aspect of your stay at Cirque Lodge.
We work with clients to determine whether full or partial coverage may be available through their insurance provider, and it may also be helpful to speak directly with your plan administrator.
Cirque Lodge is a private program and is not contracted with government agencies. For a list of in-network Medicare or Medicaid treatment facilities, please contact your state or local government.
Insurance Providers Regulation
Health Insurance Marketplace Regulations
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) lists drug and alcohol addiction services as an essential health benefit. This means that any insurance available on the Health Insurance Marketplace must cover addiction treatment.
Insurance companies on the Marketplace must also cover any pre-existing conditions – including substance use disorders – at no extra cost. You can apply for insurance at any stage of the recovery process.
While insurance plans not available on the Marketplace are not subject to these requirements, many of the plans follow the same guidelines.
Mental Health Parity Law
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act requires that insurance providers subject to the parity law offer the same level of care for substance use disorders and other mental health conditions as they do for physical and surgical concerns.
If your insurance provides free doctor visits for a heart condition, it must also provide free doctor visits for depression or addiction. While the parity law does not require that insurers cover mental health, most large insurance providers already covered this before the law came into effect. The law stipulates that this coverage must be equal to that of physical health.
The parity law applies to:
- Employer-sponsored health coverage for companies with fifty or more employees
- Coverage purchased through health insurance exchanges that were created under the health care reform law also known as the Affordable Care Act or “Obamacare”
- Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- Most Medicaid programs
Contacting Your Healthcare Provider
Insurance plans are often complicated, and it can be unclear what aspects of addiction treatment it covers. Our knowledgeable staff is available to help you understand what your plan covers, and you can call us for support at any time at 800-582-0709.
You can also speak directly to your insurance company or a human resources representative from your workplace. Because every plan is different, they are best placed to tell you the details of your specific plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Cirque Lodge does accept most insurances, although we are not an in-network rehabilitation program. We are more than happy to work with residents on their insurance and determine whether full or partial benefit is possible when you come to treatment.
Cirque Lodge is a private program and is not contracted with any government agencies. Please contact state and local governments for a list of in-network Medicare or Medicaid addiction treatment facilities.
Yes, Cirque Lodge accepts all forms of major credit cards. It is also helpful to have a credit card on file to pay for any incidental charges that can be accrued during a treatment stay.
As this is an addiction treatment facility, use of tobacco is discouraged. Cirque Lodge provides segments of medical treatment and tobacco cessation courses as a part of our addiction program for individuals who desire to quit. We do allow tobacco use during breaks in designated areas of our facility. Chewing tobacco is not permitted on the premises.
With proper notice we can accommodate any specialized dietary needs within reason. Be sure to inform the admissions staff of these needs so that preparations can be made by our kitchen staff.
When you come to treatment, becoming immersed in the program can be critical. Devices like a laptop or tablet can act as a distraction. We recommend that you leave your laptop or tablet at home while in treatment. Cirque Lodge does provide computers for residents with limited internet access to meet their needs while they are here.
Due to health restrictions and allergies in people we do not allow for pets in our facilities. Cirque Lodge does have horses. Our Studio facility is home to our equine program and residents do have the opportunity to work with the horses during drug or alcohol treatment.
Studies have shown that the addiction treatment process is more enjoyable and effective in a shared room environment. Roommates can greatly facilitate the support structure of recovery. Private rooms are available for special circumstances at an increased rate.
Interventionists are a private third party business. As such, they do charge their own rates. Cirque Lodge will be more than happy to make recommendations and suggestions on a number of leading intervention services to help begin the addiction treatment process.
