The Benefits of Inpatient Treatment
There are two main categories of drug and alcohol rehabilitation – inpatient and outpatient.
Inpatient treatment programs are intensive, residential programs where you stay at a rehabilitation center for an extended period of time.
Outpatient programs are part-time and involve regular visits to an addiction center while living in your own home. They usually offer around ten to twelve hours of treatment each week.
Inpatient treatment offers many advantages over outpatient treatment. Inpatient treatment removes you from your normal environment and any potential triggers and gives you the chance to start over and look at your life with a fresh perspective.
Some other benefits are:
Focus and Immersion
Long-term recovery involves healing the whole person. It requires reconnection with your mind, body, and spirit. During a residential stay, you can focus on your recovery completely without the distractions of everyday life.
Substance abuse disorder often has very deep-rooted and complex causes. The healing process requires identifying and changing these thought patterns, behaviors, and habits.
Achieving these changes takes focus, energy, and commitment. At Cirque Lodge, our supportive team will meet all of your everyday needs so you have the time, space, and energy you need to devote to your treatment.
Our private accommodation and remote location provide a calm and peaceful atmosphere throughout the entire day. The surrounding scenery is a constant source of inspiration for your recovery journey.
Routine and Structure
A residential stay allows you to develop healthy daily routines that help you in the recovery process.
A typical day at Cirque includes morning and evening meditation, individual therapy, group therapy, educational workshop, experiential/adventure therapy, and12 Step support group meeting.
Incorporating these daily routines during your stay is important for long-term recovery. Once you leave the center, you can continue the healthy routines you have developed during rehabilitation in your everyday life. This provides the foundation for a long and successful recovery.
A Supportive Environment
Inpatient addiction treatment has the advantage of twenty-four-hour support from medical experts, therapists, counselors, and other experts.
During rehabilitation, there will inevitably be times when recovery feels challenging or even impossible. Twenty-four-hour support is invaluable in helping you get through these difficult moments whenever they occur.
Sharing with Others
A crucial part of recovery treatment is building healthy, strong, and supportive relationships with others. This is one of the cornerstones of the 12-step program that underpins our treatment program.
While outpatient treatment typically involves group therapy, the inpatient experience allows you to connect more deeply and more meaningfully with those around you. You can form friendships that last for a lifetime and provide a constant source of support for your recovery.
Alcohol and drug rehab usually begins with removing the substance from your body. When you stop taking a substance, you experience a range of withdrawal symptoms as your body adjusts to functioning without it. These may be uncomfortable or and dangerous.
For most substances, safe detox requires 24-hour medical attention. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and you may need medication to treat them.
At Cirque Lodge, you will have constant support from medical professionals to make the process as comfortable as possible.
